Parineeti Chopra
made the world sit up and take notice with her drastic physical transformation.
The actress is all set to make a comeback of sorts with Meri Pyaari Bindu and
is the new Golmaal girl.
While her
playback debut, Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahi, from the former has been well-received,
she is also looking forward to enter the genre of full-fledged comedy.
SpotboyE.com sat
down for a chat with Parineeti. Excerpts from the conversation that
followed:
How is the shoot
of Golmaal 4 coming along?
It’s a lot of
fun, cool set. Rohit (Shetty) is an amazing director. He has the most loyal
team. The whole day goes by and we don’t come to know. We are shooting every
single day with a huge cast and senior actors. I am also getting to learn a
lot.
It must be a
different experience for you...
I was looking for
a commercial – for the lack of a better word – fun, comedy film and Golmaal 4
came at the right time. Meri Pyaari Bindu is a different kind of film so I was
looking to enter this genre. Rohit Shetty and Golmaal 4 was the perfect
combination, so I am glad and thankful that it happened.
You are getting
into Kareena Kapoor’s shoes, so comparisons will be made...
No. Golmaal is a
franchise and every film has its own actors. Being a Rohit Shetty heroine is a
big deal for me; I’m honoured and nervous. Hope I live up to everyone’s
expectations.
Let’s talk about
your eating habits. Do you still avoid certain food items?
I was eating
everything even when I was in the process of losing weight and continue to do
so. However, I try to balance it out as and when needed.
No dos and donts?
It’s just about
not eating very late and knowing what’s right for your body. I just don’t eat
the stuff my body is intolerant towards.
Anything in
particular?
I am lactose
intolerant. I avoid eating milk products. I love yogurt and cheese; I often eat
them and regret (laughs).
You were trolled
on social media some time ago. Do you plan to quit the medium?
No way. It was a
small thing. It came and went. I am very active on social media. I love
Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook.
Do you think
nepotism exists?
A lot of things
have been said on the subject and I don’t have anything new to say.
Back to your
weight loss, are you still on a weight reduction mission?
No. I am trying
to maintain my weight, but obviously, you can never maintain your perfect level
of fitness. That is always an ongoing process.
Do you still feel
you should lose more weight?
It’s not about
that. I definitely want to be as fit as I can and that involves having a lot of
stamina, strength, flexibility. It’s not about ‘mujhe patla hona hai’. It’s not
as black and white as that. I want to achieve a level of fitness I am proud of.
Was the weight
reduction important for Bollywood considering it’s a fad to look at thinner
heroines in the industry?
I feel there are
very few actors who have the privilege of being in the top 10 or top 8.
Heroines are only 8-10. It’s very important to look a certain way on-screen.
For instance, I
think in a film like Meri Pyaari Bindu, you are required to look a certain way
and a fit body is always perfect, apart from looking good.
Being fit is an
asset. An actor becomes an inspiration if she or she is fit.
