Aparshakti Khurana, who made his Bollywood debut with Dangal, has managed to make a place for himself in the industry by being part of several popular films. And to entertain his fans, the actor also came up with a fun and peppy number Ghanta during this lockdown. We spoke to the actor in detail and here is what he shared about the song, his upcoming film and much more:
Where are you spending this lockdown?
I am in Chandigarh right now but will be back in Mumbai soon as I have to shoot for my film Helmet which is almost ready with only 2-3 days of shoot remaining.
What will we see Aparshakti doing in the film?
The content of the film itself is very new as it is about how in the 21st century, it is still difficult for people to go and ask for a condom. So, yaa my character is also very interesting and they will see me doing a little bit of dancing in it.
That reminds us of your latest song 'Ghanta', how's the response been till now?
It's a lockdown song and a lot of people have made a full blown lockdown video and it is one of them. The response is great. You know when there is negativity around, you need to have fun with the situations to live happily. This is something I personally believe. I normally don't feel down or out about anything in life. And in our song 'Ghanta' we are doing the same.
In the song, we could see you living a hostel life. Have you ever experienced it in personal life?
I haven't stayed in a hostel but I have experienced it for sure. As I had to travel after every 2-3 months for my cricket with my friends during my school days. We used to stay in a very simple set up and there we definitely used to argue on who is going to go and take shower first? Also fighting for the last bite of every chocolate, cake or biryani. While shooting this I definitely felt like experiencing it all over again. It was a lot of fun. And I am also happy with the fact that I got to keep myself occupied during this lockdown.
Jackky and I have been planning a lot of things together. Whenever we meet we discuss life, films, music and so many other things. He came up with this idea and I thought let it be the first thing we could collaborate for and Vayu has done a fab job in lyrics and composition.
What are you planning next for your fans?
I don't really plan things when it comes to what I want to do next. I take one step at a time. Planning makes you expect a lot from life and then you get upset if it doesn't happen that way.
After watching Stree, I was happily surprised by the way my character and the film penned out. Nobody knew that it would earn more than 100 crores. And it's not about numbers, it's also about how people took each and every character home. Today, also people call me by my character named Bittoo, Abhishek Jana and Rajkumar Vicky.
