Bobby Deol has shown his versatility as an actor with his latest release ‘Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3’, where he plays ruthless self-proclaimed godman Baba Nirala. Despite playing such a negative character, the actor is receiving immense love and appreciation for his brilliant performance in the Prakash Jha-directed MX Player series. Bobby also had many intimate and love-making scenes with Esha Gupta in the show and their electrifying chemistry set the tongues wagging.
In an exclusive interview with SpotboyE.com, the Soldier actor opened up about doing bold scenes with Esha and stated that the actress was very professional and involved in her craft. Bobby also confessed he was very 'nervous' when he had to do an intimate scene for the first time. The actor shared, “I think we all are actors and we know that we are portraying characters. All the actors were very professional when it comes to their work, they know what exactly a character requires and that’s why they get comfortable. You know these kinds of erotic and intimate moments can make people think how it is so easy for them to do it.”
Bobby added, “I remember the first time I did an intimate scene, I was very nervous. It was the first time that I was doing something like this. My co-actor (Esha ) was so professional, she was so much involved in how well to portray a character, and then it becomes easy. And that’s why people enjoyed it. The way Prakash Ji shot the scenes, the team did work so everything was put in the right sync.” ALSO READ: Aashram 3: Esha Gupta Talks About Her Racy Intimate Scenes With Bobby Deol, ‘I Am Sure He Was Okay’!
Talking about getting an overwhelming response for his performance, Bobby stated, “I am actually surprised to see such an overwhelming response. When I did this role, I was nervous because I had never played a negative character and my image has always been very positive. So, I was a little worried as you know image gets struck and you get typecast. Initially, I also thought my fans might not accept me but then I have come to a point in my career where I want to do challenging roles, I want to take up the roles out of my comfort zone. When I got this opportunity like this- an interesting character, I wanted to do it because I never thought someone can offer me a role like this. The Best compliment I ever got was when my mother’s friend called and said Apke bête ne itna negative role kiya hai par fir bi hume bhut pyara lag reha hai.” I am very happy that people have accepted me despite playing such a negative character. I hope now I get to do more different and challenging roles.”
‘Aashram 3’ was directed by Prakash Jha and revolves around the megalomaniac baba, who believes to be above all and thinks he’s God. His ‘badnaam’ Aashram exploits women, indulges in the drug trade, and controls the politics of the town. The third season was premiered on June 3 on MX Player.
