It was last week only that Parambrata Chatterjee confirmed that he will be making a biopic film on veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee. And now the filmmakers have revealed another good news that is the shooting of the film will start from next week, February. The shooting will be done in two parts and the first part will be shot in Kolkata.
Parambrata Chatterjee took to his Instagram account and wrote, “It was an honour to celebrate his 86th birthday with the legend himself and to have also formally announced our forthcoming film which is based on his life. ‘Abhijaan’ is what we have decided to call it, and will try to capture the myriad aspects of Soumitro Chatterjee’s life and art. Really fortunate to be donning the director’s hat for this one!”
Jisshu Sengupta will be essaying the role of young Soumitra Chatterjee. The film will also feature Paoli Dam, Qaushiq Mukherjee, Rudranil Ghosh. The biopic will cover the versatile actor's career and not to forget the thespian actor has acted in more than 300 films.
Meanwhile, Soumita Chatterjee starrer Borunbabur Bondhu will be releasing next month on February 7. The film stars Soumitra Chatterjee, Arpita Chatterjee and Ritwick Chakraborty, Madhabi Mukhopadhyay, Paran Bondopadhyay, Sreelekha Mitra, Kaushik Sen, Bidipta Chakraborty in pivotal roles. Earlier, the film was supposed to release on January 28.
