No Statistics Can Make A Film Blockbuster On OTT: Director Shiboprosad Mukherjee

The entertainment industry is divided after some directors decided to release their films on the digital platforms. The nationwide lockdown has forced them to take this decision. To further curb the spread novel COVID-19, the government has announced all public gathering places like shopping malls, cinema halls, shooting of films to be stopped.

Sharing the thoughts on the same, director Shiboprosad Mukherjee said that OTT is the currently most viable option. “Film cannot be hit on OTT but what makes it a blockbuster is the box-office collections. There are no statistics that make a film hit on OTT. But when the situation is hard currently, then OTT can be an option,” the director said talking to The Times of India.

Shibprasad Mukhopadhyay and Nandita Roy will soon be starting their long-awaited next directorial titled ‘Belashuru’. The director duo had even shared the first look poster of the film on social media and the first glance of it will make you remember of ‘Bela Seshe’.
