Arindam Si has announced his next film Mahananda on his birthday this year. The film will be based on Bengali writer Mahasweta Devi. The film will see actress Gargee Roychowdhury in the tutorial role. Apart from Gargee Roychowdhury, actress Ishaa Saha and actor Gaurav Chakrabarty will also be seen in the pivotal roles.
And now the filmmakers have revealed which actor will be playing what role in the film. Ishaa Saha will be seen as Mahalaya, the young research scholar and Gaurav Chakrabarty will be essaying the role of Ishaa’s boyfriend. The film will be produced by Friends Communication Production.
As reported, the story will be about an author and activist Mahananda who has inspired a young research scholar Mahalaya. The film will focus on thoughts and works of Mahasweta Devi. Actress Gargee Roychowdhury will be seen essaying the role of Mahananda.
Mahasweta Devi was a Bengali writer and a socio-political activist. Her works include Hajar Churashir Maa, Rudali, and Aranyer Adhikar. She had worked for the rights and empowerment of the tribal people.
Reports say that Arindam Sil will start the film after completing shooting for the film Khela Jokhon starring Mimi Chakraborty and Parambrata Chatterjee in the lead role.
