Director Arindam Sil Talks About His Next Upcoming Film ‘Mahananda’

Arindam Sil will start the film after completing shooting for the film Khela Jokhon starring Mimi Chakraborty and Parambrata Chatterjee in the lead role.

Director Arindam Sil has too many projects lined up this year. He has recently the first song of his film ‘Maaya Kumari’ starring Rituparna Sengupta and Abir Chatterjee. And ahead of lockdown he had announced a film ‘Mahananda’ starring Gargee Roy Choudhury in the lead role. The film will be based on Bengali writer Mahasweta Devi.

Talking about his film, Arindam Sil said, “Mahashweta Devi is forgotten now. I wanted to make a film on her work. This film is about a movement called Mahasweta Devi. She spoke gender equality a long time back when women were not taken as important and things were more difficult for them in compare today.”

Ishaa Saha will be seen as Mahalaya, the young research scholar and Gaurav Chakrabarty will be essaying the role of Ishaa’s boyfriend. The film will be produced by Friends Communication Production. 


As reported, the story will be about an author and activist Mahananda who has inspired a young research scholar Mahalaya. The film will focus on thoughts and works of Mahasweta Devi. Actress Gargee Roychowdhury will be seen essaying the role of Mahananda.
