Actress Koel Mallick on Tuesday expressed her deepest condolences to the kin of those who lost their lives in Cyclone Amphan and said she was saddened by the tragic incident.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Koel wrote, "It feels miserably helpless. This pandemic and now Amphan super cyclone…could things get any worse? !!..homeless, jobless, food less, electricity less…deepest condolences to the bereaved families suffering death of their loved ones.”
At least 84 people have died in the cyclone Amphan which made its landfall in West Bengal on Wednesday. Thousands of trees were uprooted, electricity and telephone poles were disrupted. The state government has started the rescue work in the affected areas.
The actress, who has recently given birth to a baby boy, will be next seen in a thriller film titled ‘Rawkto Rawhoshyo’. The film also stars Lily Chakraborty, Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Basabdutta Chatterjee and Chandan Roy Sanyal in pivotal roles. The film was announced in 2018 and it got delayed with reasons unknown.
She was last seen in Mitin Mashi directed by Arindam Sil. The film was a female detective for the first time and had received a good response from the movie buffs. The film songs were highly appreciated.
