Riddhi Sen had announced that he will be directing a short film titled ‘Cold Fire’ in which he will be directing his father Kaushik Sen. And now the shooting has started of the film. It will be a short film which will be based on Nabarun Bhattacharya’s story. The other cast details have not been revealed.
Riddhi Sen shared the picture, “Experiencing the magic of ‘time’ and ‘space’ for the first from the perspective of a viewfinder. The jigsaw puzzle of lenses ,lighting , grips and the unity of people is simply beautiful and something to learn , it teaches you about something called ‘life’.”
Confirming the news, Riddhi Sen wrote on Instagram, “Something I have been planning since 2015, as Scorsese says , ‘this is a story which kept on disturbing me , burning inside me , creating an inexplicable ‘need’ to share it with people ‘ . I didn’t know the medium until 2015, then one sudden morning I realised this deep connection with this instrument called camera , through which , one can meddle with ‘time’ . I don’t know what will happen , but I definitely know it for a fact , that I’m going to ‘learn’ the craft while making it , this is my first year of film school , thank you Nabarun Bhattacharya, for planting this madness inside me with Coldfire.”
The post further read, “Without few people I couldn’t have dared attempting to make this film. My parents , who instilled the seeds of telling a story inside me . Samiran Das , who told me to go ahead with this project when I was extremely unsure of myself , his confidence with this project amazes me every time , thank you Samiran Da (Kaleidoscope) for producing this . Aniruddha Dasgupta, I owe a huge deal to you , the first writing experience is immensely special , which simply couldn’t have happened without you. Tiyash Sen , I was hell bent on the fact , if you’d said a no , I probably wouldn’t have made this film . Riddhie Basak, we’ll gradually deliver ‘coldfire’ and ‘thank you’s’ very soon 😉 Soukarya Ghosal thank you for always encouraging me to ‘see’ the flow of ‘time’ in this unending space called ‘cinema’. Meanwhile, Riddhi Sen will be next seen in Bismillah which will be directed by Indraadip Dasgupta. Subhashree Ganguly will be featured opposite Riddhi Sen in the film.
