Ishaa Saha is very excited to work with director Arindam Sil in his next film Mahananda which is based on the life Mahashweta Devi. The actress will not be seen in the lead role but will essay the role of young researcher Mahalaya. Ishaa Saha was last seen in Buro Sadhu opposite Ritwick Chakraborty.
Talking about her role, she said, “I am playing the role of young researcher and the film will show how I am influenced by Mahashweta Devi.” Mahasweta Devi was a Bengali writer and a socio-political activist. Her works include Hajar Churashir Maa, Rudali, and Aranyer Adhikar. She had worked for the rights and empowerment of the tribal people.
As reported, the story will be about an author and activist Mahananda who has inspired a young research scholar Mahalaya. The film will focus on thoughts and works of Mahasweta Devi. Actress Gargee Roychowdhury will be seen essaying the role of Mahananda.
The actress has another film also in her kitty. She will be seen in ‘Sahobashe’ which stars Anubhav Kanjilal in the lead role. The film story is about a unmarried couple who live together and how they find happiness.
