Actor Cum Director Parambrata Chatterjee Talks About Bengali Cinema And Its Success

Actor Parambrata Chatterjee has announced his film titled as 'Shokuner Lov'. The film will be directed by Anindya Bikas Datta and is expected to release in February. The poster of the film has been unveiled by Eros entertainment

Parambrata Chatterjee starrer Dwitiyo Purush is released and his acting is being praised from everywhere. The film also stars Raima Sen, Gaurav Chakrabarty, Anirban Bhattacharya in the lead role. But actor today was sharing his concern about the limited success of Bengali film industry.

Talking to The Times of India, he said, “If anyone wants to make films by going beyond the Kolkata, then the film is not successful. People do not want to see reality. They only want to see the charm of city life.’


He even compared Bengali cinema with South and said their films are full package which has all elements even it shows the rural life.

He has even announced another directorial project which will be a biopic on thespian actor Soumitra Chatterjee.


Parambrata Chatterjee's last release is Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan. The film also starred Koel Mallick and Gaurav Chakrabarty. The thriller cum adventure film, directed by Sayantan Ghosal, is a sequel of Jawker Dhan which was released in 2016.

The film story revolves around mythical Red Mercury, a chemical compound which could well be the key to resolving the fossil fuel crisis. Research suggests that this rare compound could also bring about advancements in medical science.
