Abhishek Bachchan To Play Iconic Bob Biswas Role; Twitterati Questions Will He Be Able To Replace Swaswata Chatterjee?

Everyone remembers Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani and iconic character Bob Biswas, played by Saswata Chatterjee. Despite a limited screen time, the character became a favourite, especially for his trademark line, "Nomoshkar, ek minute". And now after seven years, Bob Biswas is now returning back to the big screen.

Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to announce the film, “Nomoshkar! 🙏🏻👓 Thrilled to announce our upcoming film, #BobBiswas in association with Bound Script Production; starring @juniorbachchan and directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh.”

Even Sujoy Ghosh also tweeted, “need your blessings and good wishes... and a minute of your time.”

But director’s choice didn’t go well with the fans and he got trolled. Twitterati are doubting that whether Abhishek will be able to step into Saswata Chatterjee's shoes in the upcoming film titled Bob Biswas.

This is really not done. Such a shame for Saswata Chatterjee to not be cast in the film. It's heartbreaking to see such a talent go to waste for the lure of money making. If Bollywood was indeed true to its artform it would not compromise with such talents.

If reports are to be believed then the director is planning a prequel, which will trace the journey of Vidya Venkatesan Bagchi and how she came up with the idea of taking revenge in Kahaani. This will be Vidya Balan’s third movie with Sujoy Ghosh after Kahaani and Kahaani 2.

Media reports claimed that Bob Biswas will be a prequel to Kahaani and will revolve around his life. DC's most iconic villain Joker got a separate origin film this year. And now it looks like filmmakers in India are also walking the same path.
