Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been involved in controversies all throughout his career and has had a lot of on-field altercations with a lot of players, most famously with former Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir. A video of Shahid Afridi’s interview was going viral on Twitter last year and it drew a lot of criticism on social media. The throwback video shows him talking to TV host Nida Yasir and saying that he broke a TV after he watched his daughter imitating an ‘aarti’ scene while watching an Indian show.
The throwback video shows the host asking Shahid Afridi if he has ever smashed the TV out of anger. The cricketer replied that he did once, because of his wife. He said that daily soaps on Star Plus were very popular and he would ask his wife to watch it alone. Once he saw his daughter imitating an aarti scene after watching the show, and he smashed the TV. He said, “I have broken the TV once because of my wife. There were a lot of Star Plus dramas that were quite popular. I use to tell my wife to watch it alone and not let the kids watch. Once I came out of the room and saw one of my kids imitating an 'aarti' scene while watching a Star Plus show. I looked at her and then smashed the TV into the wall,"

Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi also created a huge controversy recently after his distasteful remarks on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It didn’t go down well with people, including cricketers such as Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan who took to their social media and slammed the Pakistani cricketer for his comments.
