Republic Day also known as the Ganatantra divas is celebrated every year on 26th January with great pride and enthusiasm throughout India. Every year on this day, a grand parade by the armed forces is held in New Delhi and here are the first glimpses of full dress rehearsal

Republic Day 2020: First Glimpse Of Full Dress Rehearsal As Armed Forces Gear Up For The Parade

India celebrates its 71st Republic Day also known as Ganatantra divas on January 26, 2020 which is also a national holiday in India. Republic Day is celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm throughout India. This day celebrates the anniversary of the Constitution of India and the transition of India from a country under British Raj to Free India. After India got free from the British rule on 15th August 1947, India was headed by King George VI till the constitution of India came into force on 26th January 1950. On this day, India got declared as a democratic republic nation. 

 

After the Constitution came into force, Dr Rajendra Prasad was elected as the first president of India. Apart from celebrating the day with the sense of patriotism in every Indian's heart, we also look forward to the grand parade which is held in New Delhi with great pomp and show. The Parade showcasing India’s military might will be presided over by President Ram Nath Kovind, who is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces. The Parade will start with the hoisting of the national flag by the President of India.


"Rajpath will witness Women' s power on 26th January, 'Dare Devils', an all-woman biker contingent of  @crpfindia  will perform at the #RepublicDayParade," as per Doordarshan. The Armed forced have already done their final rehearsals and are all set for tomorrow. Here's some glimpse of what is lying in store for us for Republic Day.

3. 'Akash' missiles will be on display

For the first time after the appointment of the Chief of Defence Staff, 3 helicopters of the defense forces - the army, the navy and the air will fly together.


4. Tanks on display

5. Jammu And Kashmir's presence in the parade

For the first time, Jammu & Kashmir will participate in the parade as a Union Territory.
