After IPL, Tokyo Olympics 2020 To Be Postponed In Light Of COVID-19; Australia And Canada Announce Withdrawal

Just like the novel coronavirus is taking a serious hit on the people’s health, making them vulnerable while some even succumbing to the virus, the legal virus is also taking a toll on some important events in the world. This virus has caused a global shutdown and with these drastic measures, several Bollywood, as well as Hollywood movies like Sooryavanshi and No Time To Die, have been pushed their release date further. Homi Adajania recently took to Instagram and announced that Angrezi Medium will be re-released in India once everything is safe. Reportedly, even Kabir Khan's '83 are also planning to postpone the release date due to Covid-19 crisis.

As per a report in TMZ, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will not go down as scheduled on July 24. International's Olympic Committee member Dick Pound said that they have officially decided to postpone the games in light of the COVID-19 global pandemic. “On the basis of the information the IOC has, postponement has been decided,” Pound told USA Today. “The parameters going forward have not been determined, but the Games are not going to start on July 24, that much I know,” further quipped to the portal. “We will postpone this and begin to deal with all the ramifications of moving this, which are immense,” Pound says.
Earlier, both Canada AND Australia said they would not send players to Tokyo to compete if the games were not postponed. "WithCOVID-19 and the associated risks, it is not safe for our athletes, and the health and safety of their families and the broader Canadian community for athletes to continue training towards these Games," Canadian Olympic officials said in a statement.
