Television's Gopi Bahu, i.e. Devoleena Bhattacharjee is currently locked up inside the Bigg Boss 13 house. The actress who entered the show to change her image from a demure bahu to a hot babe seems to be failing to connect better with the audience. Her recent statements on the show have made her an easy troll target. Bigg Boss fans started trending negative hashtags against Devoleena. So, we decided to speak with her actor-friend Rashmi Singh who had even dropped her on sets and was part of the premiere night. From Devoleena’s comment on the #MeToo movement to her slapping Shehnaaz Gill, Rashmi Singh addressed every little thing.

Have you been following Bigg Boss 13?
Of course, it's one of my favourite shows. I never fail to miss a single episode. But unfortunately, during my recent trip to Italy, I missed out on a few episodes as Voot wasn't working there. However, as soon as I returned to India, I saw all the previous episodes that I couldn’t watch when in Italy.


Who do you think is playing the game very well?
My friend Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Sidharth Shukla.

But, they seem to be at loggerheads inside the house…
Yes I know.

During a task, Devoleena said that if Sidharth Shukla comes close to her, she will accuse him of #MeToo. Don’t you think it was a wrong statement?
Sometimes, we end up saying things which we really don't mean and I think this was one such case. Of course, when I saw her say it during the episode, I was shocked. But since she didn’t discuss the topic again, I feel she had no intentions, it just happened in flow.

Bigg Boss fans and followers have tagged your friend Devoleena as “Devil”. What do you have to say to it?
See, when contestants are asked to perform a task, it becomes a do or die situation for them. One just can't keep thinking that if I do this, how would I look outside. And I feel, Devoleena is just trying hard to win the task. We should not sit and judge someone from here as we really don't know what is happening inside. She is not Gopi Bahu who will only do good deeds but she is Devoleena here, someone who will do anything to fight for herself. And I don't think these are signs of being a devil, so it’s unfair.

Devoleena slapping Shehnaaz during the snakes and ladders task was another talking point on social media…
Yes, I too read those comments. But, the funny part is Shehnaaz herself is unsure if she got slapped by Devoleena. For example, if someone slaps me, then I would obviously know that I have been hit. But yes, as a viewer, I was upset to see this kind of intolerable behaviour from each one of them. Leaving the task behind, all of them were just busy abusing, indulging in physical violence and assassinating each other’s characters. In fact, Devoleena was the only one who behaved little decent amongst them.


All TV bahus have ganged up together. Do you think it’s their strategy?
I don't think they are ganging up. It's just that their energies are same and that's why they are together. If they really wanted to team up, they would have got Sidharth Shukla also in their team. After all, he is also a famous TV personality.

Devoleena has said that she will not cook food for everyone inside the Bigg Boss house. Your thoughts?
She has all the right to do so if she is upset with some of the housemates. At our house too, sometimes our mother says ‘Theek hai, aaj khana nahi milega’, so what’s the big deal!

Lastly, you wanted Devoleena to mingle with someone. Did you find a suitable man for her?
I didn't find anyone who is worth it. I think for Devoleena, I will have to find a partner from the outside world.
