HIT OR FLOP: Uttar Ramayan, Mahabharat, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya Or Jai Shri Krishna?
As the lockdown stands extended till May 3, so do the reruns of old TV shows and yet again, we see mythological shows ruling over the rest. So, here's a quick lowdown on the Top 10 list of shows from Week 16 of 2020
It’s quite unfortunate that we have to deal with the loss of two gems of our film industry- Irrfan Khan on April 29 and Rishi Kapoor on April 30. But, as they say, the show must go on. So, here we bring you the list of the Top 10 shows of Week 16 of 2020.
Due to the extended lockdown period till May 3, we still continue seeing reruns of old shows on Television and the audience is certainly not complaining. Ruling the roost are mythological shows. On the 1st position is Uttar Ramayan, the Ramanand Sagar show. After Ramayan, begins the story of Uttar Ramayan and clearly, the show is not going to leave the numero uno slot anytime soon.
On No 2 is Mahabharat and even the 3rd slot is occupied by the same show. So, to clear the confusion, one is the old Mahabharat of 1988 which is being re-telecast just like Ramayan and the other is the new one of Star Plus which is also in its reruns and doing quite well. Like we just said, it’s the time of mythological shows.
Next, on the 4th position is the sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. A light-hearted show, this one has been ruling our TV screens for more than a decade and its reruns are still a hit with the masses.
The reruns of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya are also doing quite well as it has gone up from the 7th to the 6th slot this time. Jai Shri Krishna has proudly entered the list on No 7 and we’re hoping the show stays in the list for a while now.
Next on the 8th slot is the reality show Superstar Singer Singing Ka Kal. The thing with reality shows is they have always caught the fancy of the viewers, not just for the sheer talent of the participants but also for the emotional quotient. Baba Aiso Var Dhundo stands on the 9th slot and the last position is occupied by the World TV Premiere of the Kangana Ranaut starrer film Panga. Jitni bade parde pe nahi chali, use zyada chote pardein pe dhamaka kar gayi yeh film!
