Sonakshi Sinha- Ramayan Controversy: After Being Schooled By Shatrughan Sinha, Mukesh Khanna Clarifies, 'Took Sonakshi's Name As A Mere Example'

Shaktiman actor Mukesh Khanna recently took a dig at actress Sonakshi Sinha for her lack of knowledge in Indian mythology after she failed to answer a question related to Ramayan. The Shaktiman actor mentioned that the re-runs of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan will help people like Sonakshi during the lockdown. As Sonakshi’s father Shatrughan Sinha came out in support of his daughter, after being schooled by, Mukesh Khanna clarifies his statement on the Ramayan controversy and mentioned it was just a mere example.
Speaking with the Times Of India once again, after receiving a backlash from people for demeaning Sonakshi Sinha, Mukesh Khanna clears everything. Khanna who also featured in Mahabharat defended himself by stating that he took Sonakshi’s name just as an example. Talking about how people have blown out his comment out of proportion and presented it wrongly to Shatrughan Sinha, the actor said, “People have blown my comment out of proportion and presented it wrongly to Shatruji. I have known him for long and have immense respect for him. I took Sonakshi’s name as a mere example.”
Moving on further, Mukesh Khanna also mentioned that he was not trying to demean Sonakshi Sinha or question her knowledge and shared that his intention was not to target her. He later added how shocked he is to see how the current generation is not aware of many things. While Mukesh Khanna clarifies his statement, in a Bollywood Hungama report quoted Shatrughan Sinha defended his daughter but not taking names in particular. Talking about how he believes someone has problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan, Sinha said, “ Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion?”
