Paridhi Sharma On Bagging The Lead In Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishno Devi: 'I Was Known As Maate Since My School Days'- EXCLUSIVE
Paridhi Sharma, who has worked in shows like Patiala Babes, has stepped into the shoes of Puja Banerjee in the mythological drama, Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishno Devi - Kahani Mata Rani Ki. Yesterday, STAR Bharat's Instagram handle dropped a promo, introducing Paridhi.

And now, SpotboyE.com has learnt that the actress has begun its shoot and in fact was on the sets yesterday, shooting for another promo. Ever since Puja Banerjee quit the show, a lot of names were circulating, one of them was Paridhi too and now it's official that the actress is stepping into Puja Banerjee shoes.

We spoke to Paridhi about her entry in the show and how it was being on the sets of the show. To which the actress replied, "Since my childhood, I was the only one who used to always get selected to portray a Devi's character. Be it Sita, Radha,Parvathi ,Bharat Mata ...rather I was popularly known as Maate in my school. I have a very deep connection with the character and there is no sense of nervousness, rather I'm thoroughly enjoying the process."

Sharing her thoughts on shooting in the new normal, the actress said, "Yes, it is indeed very difficult .In fact, I feel we have lost the sense of independence and are trapped in this situation of pandemic. Every time we have to be so cautious about the environment, I mean even if I touch a single property on the set, the first thought which crosses my mind is ,"is it sanitised or not ???" So, yes the situation is painful and a lot of energy is being consumed in thinking about hygiene issues. But thankfully, I am working with a very renowned channel and production house. So, all the precautions are being taken here to maintain the hygiene of the environment and they are properly following the government guidelines. Eventually, it is extremely important for us to accept this as the new normal because I don't think this pandemic will subside at least in this year. So, it's better to adapt to this new life and move ahead."

SpotboyE.com was the first one to get you the breaking news of Puja quitting the show for her personal reasons. Talking to us exclusively Puja had said, "Yes I have quit the show and it is for personal reasons. I am taking a break from work for some time post marriage."

The show which went on-air last year in September revolves around Vaishno Devi's evolving journey from being the princess of Sripuram, Vaishnavi, to the Mother of the Universe, Goddess Vaishno Devi.

Coming to Paridhi, who started her career with the show Ruk Jana Nahi, came into limelight by playing Jodha in Ekta Kapoor's Jodha Akbar. However she took a break from work and after delivering a baby she made a comeback with Patiala Babes which was also loved by the audience. It will be interesting to see Paridhi in a Devi avatar for the first time.
