The Punjabis are grieving and this wound is not going to heal. The entire TV fraternity continues to be in a state of shock over Kushal Punjabi's suicide last week. The actor was found dead in his flat, hanging by a fan when his parents accompanied by Chetan Hansraj opened the door with a duplicate key made by a chabiwallah, who was pressed into service after 9.30 pm when Kushal had stopped answering his mobile since 3 pm.
The irony is that Kushal looked absolutely fine even the night before; he actually had dinner and drinks with his Dad (Vijay) at his Khar flat (Kushal resided in Pali Hill). And what did they talk? Well, a lot of things here and there like any father and son would- but the topic which seemed to crystallise in the conversation what that Kushal needed to be hospitalised.
The medical condition in question was a dislocated shoulder. Kushal had injured himself in the Circuit Race he had participated in, few days before his demise. Seems, the shoulder needed surgery and restricted movement for the next 4 months.
And then suddenly, it was all over around 3 pm. By the time, the door to his flat was opened- the body had turned cold, as Chetan Hansraj told us in his interview.
