Last week, the TV czarina Ekta Kapoor welcomed Nia Sharma to the Naagin world by announcing on social media. Well, after that, SpotboyE.com exclusively spoke to Ekta wherein she revealed her plans of casting another Naagin. She said, "Well, we tested many people and Nia came into the final round. She passed the look test thereafter with flying colours. She looked fab. There has to be some slickness in the look, which she provided. I am sure she will do a fantastic job. It's now over to selecting the second naagin.”
While so far, there have been numerous names doing the rounds of the web around the cast we have learnt that Ankita Lokhande has been finalized for the show. A source revealed to us that the Manikarnika actress is apparently the main lead.
We messaged Ankita, but despite reading our messages, the actress chose not to comment. If this happens, it will be a reunion of sorts for Ankita and Ekta as the actress’ path-breaking show Pavitra Rishta was produced by the ace producer. In fact, that show made Ankita and her then boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput very popular on the small screen.
While Sushant is doing great in Bollywood, Ankita too made her debut on the big screen in the Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi last year in which she essayed the role of Jhalkaribai.
Well, if the actress indeed turns up playing Naagin, it’s going to further boost her career because the franchise is quite popular amongst the audiences.
Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan essayed naagins in the first two installments, while Anita Hassanandani and Surbhi Jyoti played the central roles in the third.
