Ekta Kaul, Iqbal Khan's POV On The Revoking Of Article 370
This morning, the BJP government revoked Article 370. Here is what Ekta Kaul and Iqbal Khan think about the ruling party's decision
Ekta Kaul (of Mere Angne Mein) married Sumeet Vyas, a non-Kashmiri last year. Expressing her opinion on the revoking of Article 370 (which happened this morning), Ekta says, “I am very happy for two reasons. One, after getting married, suddenly everything changed for me because I wasn’t a part of the state anymore. I couldn't buy land. I am talking about deprivation of rights. But now, I can finally buy something in the state where I was born and raised."
A Kashmiri Pandit by birth, Ekta further said, "The state was not growing. Nobody could buy anything. The people were living in a shell. I hope that new job opportunities will open up. This is the second reason I am happy," and then added, :I personally feel liberated. I think J & K will also feel liberated. Importantly, the flag will not be insulted anymore. I think it's a great step."
On the other hand, we also spoke to Iqbal Khan (of Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai) who is from Kashmir. He too was positive about it. Said Khan, "All I want is peace in kashmir, anything done for kashmiris should benifit them and peace should prevail."
