Ekta Kapoor Wanted To Make Naagin As A Film; Katrina Kaif And Priyanka Chopra Were On Her Mind - WHAT
In a recent interview, filmmaker and producer Ekta Kapoor revealed that she wanted to make Naagin as a film and not a TV show. For the making of the film, Ekta even approached Bollywood's two leading ladies, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra to play the leads
Ekta Kapoor who gave a new and bold definition to the television industry knows how to create waves through her path-breaking content in Television, movies and now the OTT platform. However, there's one show Naagin that is one of the most popular shows on Television and guess, that's why the show is in its fourth season. But did you know that before a TV show, Ekta Kapoor wanted to make Naagin as a Bollywood film and that too with two leading ladies of B-Town. She wanted none other than Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra to be a part of it. That's right.
Ekta had approached the Bharat actress for the film and when that didn't work out, she then approached Priyanka Chopra who was heading abroad. When the logistics didn't work out she dropped the idea and went on to make it as a series and look at what kind of hysteria the show is creating. In an interview with Film Companion, Ekta was quoted saying, "After Dirty Picture, I decided to make Naagin as a film. I decided to take that concept to two people. I went to Katrina Kaif and she told me 'after Dirty Picture, you want to make something path breaking' and I suggested her Naagin and she just looked at me and thought I had smoked something (laughs). She told me if I was joking to make something like this in today's time. Then, I went to PeeCee; it was at the time when she was going abroad. Both of them were not sure if that will work.
