Bigg Boss 13: Kashmera Shah On Arti Singh Escaping Rape As A 13-Yr-Old, ‘Will Take Necessary Action Against The Person’
When Deepika Padukone arrived in the Bigg Boss 3 house with Vikrant Massey and acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, she had asked housemates to share their real story. During the Weekend Ka Vaar, Arti Singh had made a revelation of almost getting raped when she was 13. Arti Singh made a bold confession in front of Deepika and other housemates that she was locked in a room and was almost raped when she was just 13 years old. She further added “Mera haath abhi bhi shiver kar raha hai”.

Now, her Bhabhi Kashmera Shah has reacted to the big revelation. Speaking to Times Of India, Kashmera said, “Krushna and I are very blind-sided by this thing. We heard it for the first time on TV. Arti is in a house were nobody is her own and you feel very vulnerable. I am happy she shared and now we know how to handle it. We will wait for her to come out.” She further added that she should have spoken about it to her mother.

“I have always told Arti to feel comfortable and talk to me if she ever feels unsafe. This incident happened when she was 13. She wasn’t living with her brother and even I was not in their life. Krushna was in Mumbai. Her mother (aunt, who adopted her) would be a better person to share this or I don’t know if she is even aware of the incident.” Shah further revealed that she didn’t know that this was the source of her panic attacks as Singh never shared this with them.
She added, “Had we known, we would have taken some kind of action. Do you think I am that kind of a woman who would keep quiet? I am more upset than her that she didn’t tell her. But I understand her part as well. There are some things you can’t share and I don’t blame her. Once Arti is out, I will speak to her in private and want to know the details. We will take necessary action against the person. Let me get the story right. We are devastated and want to know it in entirety.”
“I wish she would have told us. We want to protect her. We are her family. We feel helpless. And there are people online, who think that not knowing about the matter is our fault. I want to tell all the girls that this is not something you should keep quiet about. You have to tell your family. I also feel had we known about it and Arti told on television that she had to go through this and her family supported her throughout, which would have been a good inspiration. Now that Arti has revealed it on TV, I will ask her to name the person. We will see if we can take the person to the court or know a way to deal with him and get her justice,” she added later.

Talking about her depression, Kashmera further added that she’s been aware of her going through depression and this happens this profession and Arti had handled it very well. “We had been with her. At times, when she would get panic attack, we would get Arti to our home so that she could sleep. I don’t think anyone is independent in the show. She is calling herself independent but not playing it independently. But that is her way of playing the game. As a player, I would have played differently. But this is her first reality show and she is learning it. But hats off to her for staying inside the house till now.”
