Bigg Boss 11 Winner Shilpa Shinde Joining Congress?
Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde has joined the Congress party on Tuesday in presence of Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam. The speculation has arisen largely because many pictures of her and Nirupam have found their way into the social media.

Shinde had debuted in the year 1999 and played the lead role of Angoori Bhabhi in the popular serial Bhabhi ji Ghar Par Hain but quit the show in 2016 amidst huge controversy.  In October 2017, she participated in Big Boss 11 and won the same on in January 2018. Shilpa's (late) father Satyadev Shinde was a High Court judge, he passed away in 2013. "But it has come as a surprise that she might take to politics. Clearly, this is a new development," says a source.
Whether Shilpa approached Congress or is it the other way round, it is still not known. Repeated calls to Nirupam failed to evoke a response. Adds the source, "After Shilpa won Bigg Boss 11, she got several offers for shows but she doesn't want to do anything frivolous. What has attracted her to politics might be her desire to do something for the people."

Many TV actresses and film stars have entered politics. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi star Smriti Irani is a classic case in point-  Currently, Irani is the Textiles Minister and MP (Bhartiya Janta Party). It remains to be seen if Shilpa, who has a big fan following in Maharashtra, is made to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls,
