AR Rahman’s Daughter Khatija Has THIS To Say To Taslima Nasreen, Who Feels 'Suffocated' To See Her In A Burqa
AR Rahman is one of the most prolific music directors we have in Bollywood and that’s why the music composer is been tagged as music maestro and he is by all means. Though giving some iconic songs in the past, he still faced hatred.  Last year, during the Slumdog Millionaire team celebrated 10 years of the album, he graced the event with his daughter Khatija Rahman who then delivered an emotional speech at the event. But little did the dad and daughter know that the speech would not only go viral but will become the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons.

While Khatija's speech received a lot of applause, it also invited trolls as she wore a burqa. Trollers slammed AR Rahman and called him a hypocrite for 'forcing' his daughter to wear a niqab. At that time, AR Rahman even gave the best comeback where he shared a photo of his daughters Khatija, Raheema and wife Sairaa with Nita Ambani and captioned the photo as #freedomtochoose. Now, after a year of that incident, a Bangladeshi-Swedish writer and feminist, Taslima Nasreen revisited the incident and shared a photo of AR Rahman’s daughter Khatija in a burqa-clad.

She said she feels ‘suffocated’ to see her in a burqa as she tweeted, “I absolutely love A R Rahman's music. But whenever i see his dear daughter, i feel suffocated. It is really depressing to learn that even educated women in a  cultural family can get brainwashed very easily!”

However, Khatija chose to give it back and slammed Taslima with an epic reply by saying, “I’m sorry you feel suffocated by my attire. Please get some fresh air, cause I don’t feel suffocated rather I’m proud and empowered for what I stand for. I suggest you google up what true feminism means because it isn’t bashing other women down nor bringing their fathers into the issue. I also don’t recall sending my photos to you for your perusal.”
