Laxmi Agarwal, India's active campaigner for acid attack victims’ rights, is ringing her 30th birthday bells on June 1. The lady had survived an acid attack at the age of 15 in Delhi. She even brought to the fore several campaigns that regulate the sale of acid in India. Laxmi Agarwal is associated with several NGO’s that works for the upliftment of the victims. Laxmi's positive attitude towards life has got her several admirers all over the world.
She used the Public Interest Litigations to make the Indian judicial system aware of the challenges that were faced by an acid attack suvivors in the society.

*She underwent seven of the serious surgeries and she defied all odds to survive, doctors gave a sigh of relief and little hope to her parents as she defeated death post the traumatic incident.
*A PIL filed by her in 2006 before the Supreme Court of India demanding total ban on the sale of acid, which was banned in the year 2013 after a long fight.
*Laxmi Agarwal is a former director of an NGO called Chhanv Foundation, which works for the upliftment of the acid attack victims.
