We are here to review Mark Wahlberg’s new Netflix Original film, Spenser Confidential. The trailer of the film was LIT so let’s see if the movie equally impresses.
The story is about a justice-seeking righteous ex-cop in a clumsy, funny way. No it's not a Salman khan starrer but has all the ingredients of a total masala entertainer. Spenser is a former cop who spent a few quality years in the jail for assaulting a corrupt superior. After his release, Spencer conveniently gets dragged into a conspiracy involving dirty policemen, machete-wielding gang members who are planning to build a casino and how Mark Wahlberg saves the day is the core plot.
Though the movie doesn't have any nudity, there is an intimate scene which has strong language and a lot of blood and gore. However, on the beep meter it's quite moderate.
Indeed, this action meets comedy with a Batman reference. It depicts the complete back story of main characters, introduction of sidekicks, and an ending which shouts “Sequel... sequel”.
All the actors have done a great job. What sets this one apart is that unlike most of the mindless action films, Spencer Confidential has the right amount of suspense, thrill and comedy in it.
For the love of masala flicks, we would rate this as Binge-worthy!
