Senior star Ila Arun recalls the reason for being sceptical to work with Nawazuddin Siddiqui
The film titled Ghoomketu featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui has hit the digital platform. This digital outing of the actor also saw senior star Ila Arun in an important role, however, talking about the film, she revealed being sceptical to work with Nawazuddin. Don’t you worry Nawaz, as her reason will just brighten your day! The senior actress was all gushing over Nawaz for being a thorough professional and hence matching up to him she had to be alert through the shooting schedule.
In an interview to IANS, Ila Arun gushing over the actor mentioned how Nawaz was always improvising his scenes while he shoots, ultimately taking to another level. Thus matching up to him, was a big thing for her, also she had to stay alert and nail her performance matching up to his standards of acting. Ila Arun said, “I am not one of those actors who believe that acting for a longer time and having experience makes you superior. The style of acting is evolving, performance is evolving and, as an actor, I have to constantly update myself to stay relevant. Nawaz is such a fine actor and I am so impressed by him. In fact, initially, I was sceptical to act with him,”
She continued, “He is young, his mind is alert and he adds certain nuance in every scene that takes the character to the next level. I, as a senior actor, had to stay on my toes. I had to stay alert to match up to his performance level.”
The film sees Nawazuddin in the role of a struggling writer trying to make it big in the entertainment business in Mumbai. Ila Arun played Nawaz’s onscreen aunt in the film. Helmed by Pushpendra Nath Misra and produced by Anurag Kashyap and Vilas Bahl, it is currently streamed on ZEE5. Alongside Nawazuddin and Ila Arun, the movie also stars Raghubir Yadav, Swanand Kirkire and Ragini Khanna in pivotal roles. The movie also has a cameo of Bollywood stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha, Ranveer Singh, Chitrangada Singh, Lauren Gottlieb and filmmakers Nikhil Advani and Anurag Kashyap. Currently, the actor is in news for his divorce as his wife Aaliyah Siddiqui has filed for divorce post their marriage hit the rock bottom in 2017.
