Extraction 2 Confirmed: Joe Russo Makes The Big Announcement; Will Chris Hemsworth AKA Tyler Rake Be Back?

Netflix’s highly watched action film, Extraction is streaming now on the platform. The film got us all excited Thor AKA Chris Hemsworth has shot most of the scenes in India, making all Indian fans crazy. In fact, Extraction is pacing to become the biggest ever Netflix original debut which clocked in 90 million households within the first month of release. It looks like the Coronavirus pandemic spread really helped the movie to gain that whopping number. With so much success and popularity, then we are sure you don’t mind Extraction 2 as well. Yes, according to the same portal, Joe Russo has confirmed Extraction 2. Excited much?
Talking about the sequel, Russo was quoted saying to Deadline, “The deal is closed for me to write Extraction 2, and we are in the formative stages of what the story can be. We’re not committing yet to whether that story goes forward, or backward in time. We left a big loose ending that leaves question marks for the audience.”
“There was always a simple drive to the story, a balletic execution of action where you take a damaged character who made an egregious mistake in the past and has a shot at redemption which might be fatal,” Joe Russo further quipped to the portal. “What was key is that we needed a muscular action director like Sam to be the main creative force in the execution of the action.”
Apart from this, Russo wants and expects Sam Hargrave (the director with whom he worked on several Marvel movies in the past) to return at the helm. As for Hemsworth, Russo said that he will first show the actor the screenplay first who is very much excited to make a return. Well, this would be helluva interesting to watch the handsome hunk again onscreen.
Starring Chris Hemsworth in the lead, Extraction is based on graphic novel Ciudad, by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando Leon Gonzalez, and Eric Skillman. Chris Hemsworth plays a mercenary named Tyler Rake. His mission is to extract Indian drug lord’s teenage son, who has been kidnapped by a rival Bangladeshi mobster.
The film also stars Randeep Hooda, Pankaj Tripathi Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Golshifteh Farahani, Suraj Rikame, and David Harbour. Extraction is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Chris Hemsworth, Mike Larocca and Eric Gitter.
