Leonardo Di Caprio Reacts To Brazil President Accusing Him Of Funding The Amazon Rainforest Fires
The Amazon Rainforest Fires left many people in shock as the world’s largest forest was burning for more than 17 days. As Forest fires create a major issue to the environment and the oxygen provided by the trees, many celebrities also expressed their concerns on the matter. Hollywood actor Leonardo Di Caprio, who is also a said environmentalist was among the first to raise his concerns on the issue with a picture of the burning forest. Recently, President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro accused Leonardo Di Caprio of funding the Amazon Rainforest fires. Reacting to the claims made by the President, Di Caprio star finally speaks out on the issue.

After claims made by the President of Brazil, Leonardo Di Caprio took to his Instagram to give back a befitting reply on the accusations charged at him. Di Caprio shared a long written post explaining himself and addressing the issue. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor wrote, “At this time of crisis for the Amazon, I support the people of Brazil working to save their natural and cultural heritage,” and provided his support to the people of Brazil who are working hard to save their natural and cultural heritage. The actor then went on to share how amazing the people of Brazil are and wrote, “They are an amazing, moving and humbling example of the commitment and passion needed to save the environment,” and mentioned how they are an example of commitment and passion they have to save the environment. Leonardo then wrote, “The future of these irreplaceable ecosystems is at stake and I am proud to stand with the groups protecting them. While worthy of support, we did not fund the organizations targeted. I remain committed to supporting the Brazilian indigenous communities, local governments, scientists, educators and general public who are working tirelessly to secure the Amazon for the future of all Brazilians,” and mentioned how he stands with the groups protecting them, and cleared the air by mentioning he did not fund the organizations but instead is working tirelessly to secure the Amazon for the future of all Brazilians.


Meanwhile, The WWF also released an official statement on their Brazilian site, wherein they completely denied receiving a donation from Leonardo DiCaprio and obtaining pictures from the fire-fighters. 


Recently, the President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro accused the Titanic actor of donating money to the environmental non-profit groups operating in Brazil to light up the Amazon forest.
