Legendary Actor And Comedian John Witherspoon Dies At 77; Son Shares A Heartfelt Note

Hollywood legendary actor and comedian John Witherspoon passed away on October 29. He was 77. The actor is survived by his wife Angela, whom he married in 1988, and his sons Alexander and John David Witherspoon. The official Twitter account of the actor put up a tweet done by his family members. 

The sad tweet read, “It is with deep sadness we have to tweet this, but our husband & father John Witherspoon has passed away. He was a Legend in the entertainment industry, and a father figure to all who watched him over the years. We love you “POPS” always & forever. - The Witherspoon Family.” The tweet is accompanied with a widely smiling photo of late Witherspoon.

Witherspoon’s son John David took to social media and shared quite a few pictures with his dad and wrote in his heartfelt post, “So...my Dad died today & honestly I’m not sure how to feel. I’m sad, but I’m also happy 4 all the great times we had together. We’d roast each other like homies more than Father & Son, and I really liked that. He was my best friend & my idol. Love U Dad...I’ll miss u.- J.D.”

Soon after the tweet was out, netizens mourn his loss to the Industry. A heartfelt user wrote, “77 years of grace and not getting caught up with younger women off the fame. One of the true OG’s of the movie industry grew up on your comedy. RIP King thanks for sharing him with us Witherspoon family! Great comedian even better human being.”

According to an international website, John Witherspoon died yesterday at his home in Sherman Oaks, California. Rest in peace
