Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Saif Ali Khan's period drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior managed to win accolades from all corners. Critics, as well as audiences, gave a thumbs up to the film. Even though it clashed with Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak, Tanhaji managed to do well at the box office. Now the cherry on the cake is that the film has become tax-free in Uttar Pradesh. Ajay Devgn made this announcement via Twitter as he thanked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for doing so.

Ajay Devgn on Twitter stated he is grateful for the film to become tax-free and even expressed his wish for Yogi Adityanath to watch the film. He tweeted, " that Thank you Shri Yogi Adityanathji for making #TanhajiTheUnsungWarrior Tax-Free in Uttar Pradesh. I would also be delighted Sir if you watched our film @myogiadityanath #TanhajiUnitesIndia." Ajay Devgn's film Tanhaji that chronicles the bravery and patriotism of the great soldier, Tanaji Malusare, managed to cross the Rs 50-crore mark at the box-office within three days of its release and now, with the film becoming tax-free in UP, one can only expect greater earnings for this period-drama. Meanwhile, Deepika's Chhapaak which is based on the real-life story of acid-attack survivour Laxmi Agarwal is going strong at the box-office. Deepika received a lot of praise for her portrayal of the acid-attack victim and by the end of day 4, it managed to rake in approximately Rs 21 crore at the ticket window. This despite Chhapaak being tax-free in a few cities. Let's see what happens further.
