Simran Teaser Review: Kangana Ranaut’s Quirky Avatar Will Remind You Of Audrey Tautou’s Amélie
The teaser trailer of Kangana Ranaut’s Simran is out and even though the clip is dialogue-free, it gives us an interesting peek at the lead character. Simran is mischievous, girly and full of surprises.

While this is Kangana Ranaut as we have never seen her before, the background music and the playful vibe reminded us of another famously quirky film, the 2001 French hit Amélie, starring Audrey Tautou.

The Hansal Mehta film is set in America and starts with Kangana giggling at a handsome stranger. Then come many crazy moments including a montage in a wig shop where an excited Simran stumbles and falls. But she gets right back up with a smile.

While the teaser keeps it light, the film will be a lot darker. According to reports, Kangana essays the role of a divorced housekeeper in the film. As part of workshops, Kangana learnt the ropes of vacuuming, making beds and also interacted with professional housekeepers about their routine.
And that plot is far removed from Amélie, which was an offbeat love story.

Other reports claimed that Simran is inspired by the life of an NRI nurse in the US, Sandeep Kaur, who was imprisoned for robbing banks to pay off her gambling debts in 2015.

The teaser trailer does not give any clues to what awaits the audience but it seems like Kangana Ranaut has a winner on her hands again!
