Shahid Kapoor Suffers 13 Stitches As He Gets Injured On The Sets of Jersey; Mira Rajput Rushes To Chandigarh

After basking in the success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor has started shooting for his upcoming film Jersey. The actor is currently shooting for the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Jersey, which has Mrunal Thakur as his leading lady and Kapoor’s real dad Pankaj Kapur. Reportedly, Pankaj will play a mentor-like figure in the film to Shahid and will be a strong pillar of support to Shahid’s character. Shahid Kapoor will be seen portraying the role of a cricketer in his mid-thirties. But the latest news may upset Shahid Kapoor’s fans.
According to the latest reports, Shahid Kapoor has injured himself on the sets of Jersey in Chandigarh. A source close from the film’s set revealed to Mumbai Mirror, “During a shot, the ball came too fast and hit his lower lip, cutting it wide open. It was bleeding profusely while the chin is swollen up, too. A doctor was immediately rushed to the location and Shahid received stitches to close the wound,” informs the source, adding that Shahid will not be able to shoot till the swelling subsides and the wound heals enough for him to emote freely. “The next course of action will be determined only after checking how the injury is healing, after five days.” (ALSO READ: Jersey First Look: Shahid Kapoor Shares First Picture As He Begins Preps On His Upcoming Film)
Another source told Pinkvilla, "He is fine now. But the injury was a deep cut so he had to get 13 stitches. Mira (Rajput) has rushed to Chandigarh now on hearing the news. There's nothing to worry anymore." Before kickstarting the shoot of Jersey, Shahid had taken to social media and had said that he’s been going through sleepless nights and pre-shoot nervousness. In his series of Tweet, he wrote, “Thank you all for all the concern and wishes. Last 2 weeks I was out of action but am well and raring to go now. #Jersey shoot starts tomorrow. As usual pre-shoot nervousness. Sleepless and anxious. Every character is a new challenge. And the responsibility of finding the truth.” Another one of his tweets read, “Of finding the soul of a protagonist who’s story merits being told. Every character if real will be flawed in some way. Some more than others. The beauty of life and humanity lies in its acceptance of its own imperfection.”
