In the last couple of years, we saw many stars turning vegetarian and giving up eating meat and also promoting the same. One of them is Shahid Kapoor; his solid physique has been admired by his fans, but did you know despite he belonging to a Punjabi family, he chose to go vegetarian a few years ago. The actor, who is locked at home with his wife Mira Rajput and kids Misha and Zain, during his social media interaction, revealed who and how he inspired to go vegetarian.

The actor during his chat session revealed a specific book he read suggested by his father Pankaj Kapur which made him take the route of being a vegetarian. This book was by Brian Hines named Life Is Fair which was suggested to him by his father. This book advocated the side effects of killing and eating animals as food items and since then the actor turned vegetarian. As per several reports back then he was dating Kareena Kapoor, who was also inspired with Shahid and gave up eating meat. Though she came back to eating meat after she started dating Saif. 

So now you know the reason and inspiration behind the actor giving up meat.
