Salman Khan & Shilpa Shetty’s “Bhangi” Comment Invites Legal Trouble
Superstar Salman Khan and actress Shilpa Shetty may find themselves in legal mess for using an objectionable word for the Dalit community in an interaction with the media...
The Valmiki community in
Jodhpur burnt posters of Salman Khan and protested against Shilpa Shetty for
using an objectionable word.
In an old video that has surfaced online again,
Salman Khan is on a chat show with Katrina Kaif. When quizzed about the
choreography of a certain song, Salman says that if he doesn't feel the steps
suit him or he looks “Bhangi” doing those, he simply refuses to do them.
Salman Khan And Shilpa Shetty
Drawing parallels between his inability to do a
dance step to one of the backward castes in India, Khan has offended the
Valmiki Samaj. "I look like a Bhangi doing this step," he said.
The second clip shows Shilpa Shetty interacting with a
media person. When the Shut Up and Bounce diva is quizzed about her look when
she is at home, she starts off saying, "I look like a Bhangi..."
While, both the stars must have loosely used the above
word, but it hasn’t gone down well with the Valmiki Samaj. And hence a
complaint has been registered against the actors.
