In an appalling incident that took place in Andhra Pradesh, a differently-abled woman was assaulted by the tourism deputy manager of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department Corporation in Nellore, on Tuesday. A report in TOI stated that according to tourism officials, the victim only asked the deputy manager to wear a mask as per protocol. However, the man was furious about being ordered by a lower-rank colleague and brutally attacked the woman. Richa Chadha is sickened and appalled by this, and took to her Twitter to condemn the horrifying act.

The CCTV footage showing the man thrashing the woman went viral on social media, and caused outrage. Trigger warning before you go ahead: The video below contains shocking visuals showing violence. The woman was pulled by her hair, dragged and beaten up with what looks like a rod, by the man. Soon, a few people enter the room, trying to stop him. They all exit the room, leaving the woman there. Richa Chadha expressed her disgust at the sickening act, and wrote, “What the actual f*ck ? What an entitled, ugly? loser uncle! You shall be behind bars Bhaskar and spend the rest of your life apologising for this.”

She further tweeted, “Once he’s done hitting her, other unkils walk WITH HIM, leaving the woman alone, lest he need to be comforted after this outburst of violence BY HIM. This is our society. You’re foolish if you think we’re not living in sickness! Sick. #BhaskarTuToGaya #UncleaPleaseSit.”

As per a report in the Times Of India, the victim had lodged a complaint with the Nellore police, and an assault case was registered against the tourism deputy manager, C Bhaskar. Managing director of APTDC Pravin Kumar suspended him, and formed an inquiry committee to take disciplinary action against him.
