Phantom Enters The Field!
A few months ago, when the country was raging with Cricket World Cup fever, SpotboyE had reported that Arjun Kapoor had been approached to play Kapil Dev in a film based on India's 1983 WC victory against the West Indies. (Arjun To Play Kapil Dev?, February 16 )

And now, we have learnt that Phantom Films is all set to co-produce the movie with Vishnu Vardhan Induri, the founder of Celebrity Cricket League. Induri's original plan was to produce the film on his own with an ensemble cast comprising Indian and Caribbean actors. He had even planned to announce their names by the end of the World Cup series. However, nothing happened.

"The Phantom boys (Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl) are excited about the project and have decided to come on board as co-producers. They will undoubtedly get a stellar cast. A few meetings have already happened, but papers are yet to be signed," says a source close to the production company.

When contacted, Induri restricted his answer to, "It is too early to comment on it."
