Panga Or Street Dancer- Who Will Win THIS Panga At The Box-Office, Next Friday?- MIXED REACTIONS
Next Friday, it's going to be a box-office clash between Kangana Ranaut's Panga and Varun Dhawan-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Street Dancer. Trade experts try to decode who will win the battle
This Friday, it’s Jai Mummy Di- a small film. No big clash or clashes- but next week it’s going to be Kangana Ranaut’s Panga locking horns with Varun Dhawan-Shraddha Kapoor’s Street Dancer. Curiosity killed the cat but it’s still a habit to ask- Who will win?
SpotboyE.com has mixed reactions from trade experts. Taran Adarsh says, “The clash will not eat into each other’s business since both films belong to different genres. Panga is very relatable. Street Dancer is pulsating on music, not to forget Varun’s fan following. I won’t dwell on numbers as the screen count is yet to be finalized- who gets how much.”
Amod Mehra eschews similar sentiment. “Nothing to worry, next Friday. Nowadays, business gets affected if 3 films release together, not 2. Besides Panga is only a 15-20 crore film, so it will make money. On the other hand, Street Dancer will also do very well even though it is a 100 crore film.”
However, Akshaye Rathi (leading exhibitor) says Street Dancer will do commercially better than Panga. “Both will tinkle. Panga is a very interesting subject, but Street Dancer will have an edge when it comes to masses.”
Akshaye and Mehra differ on Day 1 collections too. While Mehra says Panga will collect 4-5 crore and Street Dancer 10-12 crore, Rathi says Panga will garner about 7-8 crore and Street Dancer a humongous 20 crore plus and maybe even 24 crore as it’s a Republic Day weekend, he reminds.
