Lootcase: After Kunal Kemmu Demands Equal Opportunity As Alia Bhatt, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, Film's Director Responds, 'It's His Outlook'
It was only last month that Disney+ Hotstar announced the release of multiple upcoming biggies on their OTT platform. The list includes Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb, Alia Bhatt’s Sadak 2, Abhishek Bachchan’s The Big Bull, Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride Of India, Vidyut Jammwal’s Khuda Haafiz and Kunal Kemmu’s Lootcase. Well, a grand live press conference was organised to announce the same and it had the likes of almost all the above-mentioned stars, except for Kunal Kemmu and Vidyut Jammwal. Soon after, the duo took to Twitter and expressed their disappointment over the same.

This, undoubtedly, created a furore on social media with angry netizens demanding boycott on the OTT platform for allegedly promoting nepotism, especially in the wake of all the outrage after Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. Asking for equal opportunities, Kunal Kemmu had tweeted, “Izzat aur pyaar maanga nahi kamaya jaata hai. Koi na de toh usse hum chhote nahi hote. Bas maidaan khelne ke liye barabar de do chhalaang hum bhi oonchi laga sakte hai.” Now, the director of his film Lootcase, in an interview with Zoom, has reacted to the same.

Rajesh Krishnan said that while he respects Kemmu for pouring out his heart, he is no one to comment on National Award winning actor like him. He said, "It's very hard for me to judge somebody unless I walk a mile in their shoes. And as an individual, he did what he did and I respect him for what he did. Do I have a point of view? These are things that we will probably discuss in privacy, but I'm just saying that it's his outlook. I mean look at him, he is a national award winner, who am I? I am just somebody who has done a bunch of ad films in the last 15-20 years. I am nobody to comment on a Kunal Kemmu."

Vidyut Jammwal, too, had slammed the OTT platform for their allegedly biased behaviour. "A BIG announcement for sure!!  7 films scheduled for release but only 5 are deemed worthy of representation. 2 films, receive no invitation or intimation. It’s a long road ahead. THE CYCLE CONTINUES,” tweeted Vidyut.
