Deepika Padukone’s recent visit to the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has irked quite several people, including celebrities. It all happened after a mob of masked people gate-crashed the educational premise and attacked its students, teachers and damaged a lot of property. Last Tuesday, Deepika Padukone joined the protest against violence at JNU and stood in solidarity with the students. Ever since then, the actress has been at the receiving end of criticism, as well as support. Baba Ramdev belongs to the former category.

During his recent interaction with reporters, the Yoga guru advised the Chhapaak actress to first studying social, political and cultural issues before taking such decisions. “Deepika’s efficiency as an actor is a different ball game. However, she should first study social, political and cultural issues and understand more about our country. After acquiring this knowledge, she should take big decisions,” said Baba Ramdev. Further, he also kept forward a proposal in front of the actress. “I feel that Deepika Padukone should have persons like Swami Ramdev for the right piece of advice,” added Ramdev. In the past, BJP leader Smriti Irani had slammed Deepika Padukone for her action. She was quoted as saying, “I would rather know what her political affiliation is than not know. I think that anybody who has read the news knew where you are going to stand... knew that you are standing with people who wanted the destruction of India… knew that they are standing with people who celebrate every time a CRPF jawan is killed.”
