We are very well aware of the India-China border conflict in Eastern Ladakh since the past few months. It was just recently reported that 20 soldiers of the Indian Army were martyred in the violent face-off at one of the four frontiers, Galwan valley. Now, as the nation salutes it’s bravehearts and prays for the bereaved families, CAIT penned down an open letter appealing celebrities-sportsmen, Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli, Akshay Kumar, MS Dhoni and others to stop endorsing Chinese brands.

According to a report in Republicworld.com, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has launched a nationwide campaign titled 'Bharatiya Saaman-Hamara Abhiman' whose agenda is to boycott Chinese products. The CAIT penned down an open letter to Bollywood celebrities and members of the sports fraternity, asking them to join their campaign. In the open letter released on Juen18, CAIT has appealed to celebrities like Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Virat Kohli and others to stop endorsing Chinese products and brands.

While they appeal to Bollywood celebrities to stop endorsing Chinese goods, CAIT has also invited celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dikshit, Mahender Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and others to join their campaign to boycott Chinese goods. The letter further stated that the information available in the public domain, the traders in the country request stars Aamir Khan, Sara Ali Khan, Virat Kohli, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Badshah, Sidharth Malhotra, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan, Ayushman Khurana, Shradha Kapoor and others, in particular, to stop endorsing Chinese products, respecting the souls of the martyred Indian soldiers.


Meanwhile, the CAIT is targeting to reduce 13 billion dollars worth of imports from China that costs up to Rs. 1 Lakh crore approximately. With the support of traders and the citizens of the country, CAIT is aiming to achieve its target by December 2021.

For the unversed, The Indian and Chinese military troops were headed towards a face-off in the several disputed areas of the LAC (Line of Actual Control) in Eastern Ladakh, several months back. Both India and China have been locked in a face-off since May this year, in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
