Dil Chahta Hai Is Back; Aamir Khan, Farhan Akhtar Collaborate With Berklee Students To Recreate Title Track For COVID-19 Relief-WATCH
Aamir Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Shankar Mahadevan, Salim Merchant, Zaakir Hussain, Neeti Mohan, Jonita Gandhi and Berklee College students collaborated to recreate the title song of Dil Chahta Hai, check it out!
With the Coronavirus outbreak, celebrities and famous personalities have been doing their best to contribute and donate in whatever way they can to fight the pandemic. Several Bollywood stars donated to PM-CARES fund, and urged followers to do the same. Recently, a virtual concert I For India was held to help raise funds for Coronavirus relief. Now, Shankar Mahadevan and Berklee Indian Ensemble of Berklee College of Music joined hands to recreate the title track of Dil Chahta Hai, and the video also features Aamir Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Salim Merchant, Zaakir Hussain, Neeti Mohan, Jonita Gandhi among others.
The funds raised will go to #BIXCOVIDFUND that has been set up to help marginalized artists in India. The video starts with an introductory message by Aamir Khan appealing to the fans. He said, “Amongst all the films I have done, the song Dil Chahta Hai is certainly one of my favorites. It is beautifully composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and lyrics by Javed sahab are just exquisite. I am really happy to know that the Berklee School of Music has done a recording of this song and that all the funds collected from this recording will go to support the musicians and singers during these very tough times that we are living through.”
This funky recreated version of the song has a classical twist to it. Throughout the video, we can see artists hold placards with their heart’s desires written on them as they sing Dil Chahta Hai.
