Well, it's known fact that Taimur belongs to the royal Pataudi family but did you know he's also related to the legendary Rabindranath Tagore? Yes, you read that right! Read on to know exactly how.

It's a known fact that Taimur Ali Khan is the grandson of veteran Bollywood actor Sharmila Tagore. Now, as per reports, her parents are connected to Rabindranath Tagore, which automatically draws his connection to the little Taimur Ali Khan as well. As per a report in Pinkvilla, Sharmila's father Gitindranath was the grandson of renowned painter Gaganendranath Tagore, whose father was a cousin of Rabindranath Tagore. So, that is how the Nobel Laureate is the cousin of the veteran actor's great great grandfather. That instantly makes Taimur Ali Khan the great great grandson of Rabindranath Tagore's brother.

Interestingly, during a previous interview, Saif Ali Khan revealed how his son has imbibed a bit of Rabindranath Tagore, Raj Kapoor, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in him while calling Taimur as the 'genetic treasure trove'.


Sharmila Tagore, too, in an old interview had spilled the beans on being related to Rabindranath Tagore. The actor stated she how doesn't have much authority on Tagore, but she certainly elated to have such a surname. Sharmila added how Rabindranath passed away three years before her birth so she never got an opportunity to meet or interact with him. However, she admitted to hearing some wonderful stories from her mother.
