Deepika Padukone Takes The #SafeHands Challenge With A Mask On; Further Nominates Virat Kohli Among Others
As Deepika Padukone was nominated by WHO director-general Dr. Tedros for the #SafeHands challenge to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Chhapaak actress took to her social media to share a video as she completes the challenge and washes her hands. Last week, the WHO (World Health Organization) declared COVID-19 or Novel Coronavirus a pandemic. Since then, actresses Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra Jonas were nominated by WHO director-general Dr Tedros for the #SafeHands challenge to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. After being nominated by WHO director-general, Deepika recently took to her social media to share a video as she takes the challenge. In the video, the Chhapaak actress is seen taking preventive measures to create awareness about the rapidly spreading virus.
On Twitter, Deepika Padukone shared a video of her accepting the #SafeHands challenge. The actress tweeted, “Thank You @DrTedros, for nominating me for the #SafeHands Challenge! #COVID19 surely is an uphill health and public safety task, but all of us are in this fight together!I further nominate @rogerfederer,@Cristiano and @imVkohli to take up this challenge! #coronavirus #StaySafe.” In the tweet, Deepika thanked WHO director-general for nominating her for the #SafeHands challenge.
The Chhapaak actress then mentioned how everyone must ensure health, safety and fight the virus together. The video features the actress standing in her bathroom by her washbasin, washing her hands with soap. In the video, Deepika is spotted dressed in her bathrobe as she carefully washes her hands under the running water in her bathroom.

Meanwhile, as Deepika Padukone accepted and took up the #SafeHands challenge by the WHO director-general, the actress further went on to nominate Tennis champion Roger Federer, Football star Cristiano Ronaldo and Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli for the challenge. On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo is under quarantine with his family at his home, whereas Virat Kohli requested fans to take preventive measures and stay safe at home.
