A bomb threat was made to superstar Rajinikanth on Thursday. As per local news channels, the Chennai Police were informed over a phone call by an anonymous person that a bomb was planted at the superstar's Poes Garden residence in Chennai. The police are reportedly conducting search operations at Rajinikanth’s residence. According to reports, sniffer dogs and bomb detectors are being used to thoroughly search the entire place.

The reports also state that this news has created quite a ruckus around Rajinikanth’s residence as hundreds of concerned fans of the superstar have gathered there amid growing Coronavirus cases in the city. As of now, it is not known if the threat was real, and it’s only after a thorough search, can it be revealed if the call was a hoax. More information is awaited.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in the film Darbar, also starring Nayanthara in the lead role. The film, directed by AR Murugadoss, also featured Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty as the antagonist. The film released on January 9, 2020.


It is also being speculated that Rajinikanth may be teaming up with Karthik Subbaraj for Petta 2, however, there is no confirmation of the same.
