Before R Madhavan, Abhishek Bachchan Was Asked To Play Villain In Simmba
Before Rohit Shetty approached R Madhavan for the anti-hero’s role, he knocked at Bachchan Jr's door. But surprisingly didn't get a favourable response...
Just last night,
we told you that R Madhavan is likely to join team Simmba as the top villain in
Simmba, the cop drama.
But before Rohit
Shetty approached Madhavan for the anti-hero’s role, he knocked at another
star’s palatial Juhu bungalow.
We had promised
to give the name to you yesterday and here it is ... Abhishek Bachchan.
The Bunty Aur Babli star was offered to play the baddie. His character
would have made life a living hell for Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan.
Abhishek Bachchan
Rohit and
Abhishek are close friends; hence Junior Bachchan’s hesitation to take up the
role comes as a surprise. In fact, the two go back a long way. The two had
worked together in Bol Bachchan (2012).
As such, not just
Rohit even Karan Johar (co-producer of Simmba) was perplexed at Abhishek’s
decision.
R Madhavan
While the exact
reason of him not accepting the project is not known, we know for a fact that
Madhavan has stolen a march over him.
Was it dates or
something else? Abhishek will soon be seen in Sajid Khan's Housefull 4 and Anurag
Kashyap’s Manmarziyan.
Sara Ali Khan
Meanwhile,
talking about Simmba's female lead Sara Ali Khan, Abhishek Kapoor has delayed
Kedarnath (originally meant to be Sara’s launch vehicle) no end. Meanwhile,
Rohit Shetty’s Simmba has a release date- December 27, 2018. Let’s see who launches Sara first – Rohit
Shetty or Abhishek Kapoor. It’s an interesting fight to the winning post.
