Badhaai Ho director Amit Sharma is not one of those careless people- many in our midst, actually- who is living in a fool's paradise that 'Coronavirus can't happen to me or my friends and relatives'.
Not having isolated just himself from the world, Amit's majormost concern at the moment is his father who is 69-years-old. "I lost my mom in 2008 and he was only 57 then. I got him remarried, but his wife is now in Dubai for some very important work and she cannot come back before 3 more months at least."
Amit's father has a separate house, just 2 min from where Amit resides. So what has Amit done to safeguard his dad who is vulnerable as he's over 60? " Well, I have told his maid and cook to not come for few days. I am not taking away their job but just playing safe, as community infection is soon likely to break out. So, I have asked them to not come from tomorrow to be precise, till we tide over the crisis. They could be carriers and they might not know about it. "
So one of the househelps that Amit has got, has been shifted to Amit's dad's house. "He will do almost everything to safeguard my dad's requirements and stopping the maid and cook will only ensure more safety," Amit adds.
