And it has begun! The lungs of Mumbai will be cut as per the Bombay HC order. The Government authorities took to the Aarey forest to cut down 400 trees before they could be stopped, at midnight. Now Bollywood celebs are taking to social media espresso their anger against the government's sudden to move to chop trees.

As chopping of trees began at midnight, locals and activists reached Aarey to protest against it. Yesterday, Bombay High Court has dismissed all the petitions against BMC and the state government's decision to clear the forest area. Taking to social media, Bollywood celebs like Farhan Akhtar, Dia Mirza and Swara Bhasker among others have tweeted on this covert operation that the government conducted at night.

Farhan Akhtar wrote, “Cutting trees at night is a pathetic attempt at trying to get away with something even those doing it know is wrong. #Aarey #GreenIsGold #Mumbai
